Itinerary

Arrival in Haridwar

  • Arrive at Haridwar by train or road.
  • Check into the hotel and rest.
  • In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri.
  • Overnight Stay: Haridwar

Haridwar to Barkot (Approx. 180 km / 6–7 hrs)

  • After breakfast, drive to Barkot via Mussoorie.
  • Stop at Kempty Falls for sightseeing (optional).
  • Reach Barkot, check in at the hotel or camp.
  • Prepare for the Yamunotri trek the next day.
  • Overnight Stay: Barkot

Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (Drive 36 km + 6 km trek one way)

  • Early morning drive to Janki Chatti.
  • Begin 6 km trek to Yamunotri (on foot, pony or palanquin).
  • Take a holy dip in Surya Kund, visit the Yamunotri Temple.
  • Return trek to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot.
  • Overnight Stay: Barkot

Barkot to Uttarkashi (Approx. 100 km / 4–5 hrs)

  • After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi.
  • Visit Vishwanath Temple and the local market.
  • Rest and prepare for Gangotri the next day.
  • Overnight Stay: Uttarkashi

Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (Approx. 100 km each way / 3–4 hrs)

  • Early morning drive to Gangotri.
  • En route stop at Harsil Valley for scenic views.
  • Take a holy dip in the Bhagirathi River and darshan at Gangotri Temple.
  • Return to Uttarkashi by evening.

Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (Approx. 220 km / 8–9 hrs)

  • Drive to Guptkashi, located near the Mandakini River.
  • En route see Tehri Dam (optional stop).

Guptkashi to Kedarnath (Drive 30 km + 18 km trek)

  • Reach Kedarnath and visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.

Kedarnath to Guptkashi (18 km trek + 30 km drive)

  • Attend early morning aarti at Kedarnath Temple.
  • Begin the return trek to Gaurikund.
  • Drive back to Guptkashi and rest.

Guptkashi to Badrinath (Approx. 200 km / 8–9 hrs)

  • Drive to Badrinath via Joshimath.
  • On arrival, visit Badrinath Temple and take a holy dip in Tapt Kund.
  • Visit Mana Village – the last village before the Tibet border.
  • Overnight Stay: Badrinath.

Badrinath to Rudraprayag (Approx. 160 km / 6–7 hrs)

  • After darshan and breakfast, drive to Rudraprayag.
  • En route witness confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.
  • Check in at hotel and relax.
  • Overnight Stay: Rudraprayag

Rudraprayag to Haridwar (Approx. 160 km / 6–7 hrs) – Departure

  • After breakfast, drive back to Haridwar.
  • En route optional stop at Devprayag (confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi).
